Red Carter was born in Santa Ana, California. He studied at the Parson School of Art and Design, located in Los Angeles. Naturally, having grown up in California, Red found himself surrounded by the beach. This would come in handy later on in his life.
Red himself was also a competitive swimmer, as well as a record breaking diver, water polo player, and sprinter. He went into the entertainment industry after the end of his sports career. There, he did some voice over work, appeared in commercials, and even landed some small roles in movies. Through all of that, however, a fashion designer was his favorite role to play.
In San Francisco, Red worked under Suzy Tompkins at Espirit. He has also worked for the Marciano Brothers, Mossimo, Guess Jeans, Rampage, Victoria’s Secret, and Oscar de la Renta.
All of this gave him a great background for his eventual swimwear line. Ultimately, he decided to be the voice of Miami.
