A Look at the Genius of John Richmond

When you talk about luxe swimwear, you would be completely remiss if you failed to mention John Richmond at least once.

John is based out of Milan but he is hailed as a wholly British fashion designer, having been born in 1960 in Manchester, England. He then moved to London, but wound up in Italy in order to pursue his fashion oriented dreams.

In 1982, Richmond graduated from Kingston University with a degree in fashion design. Right away, he began designing a collection of his own — and under his own name at that. At the same time, he was collaborating with some very high end brands, like Joseph Tricot, Emporio Armani, and Fiorucci.

He has very close ties with the fashion industry attached to rock music, and a lot of that shows in his bad to the bone swimsuits.
