I am secretly wild about plaids, but it’s hard to get away with wearing them during any season, especially the summer, without secretly thinking that people who are style savvier than you will be looking at you and secretly thinking, “Oh em gee, the early 90s grunge scene called, they want their clothes back.” Or maybe that’s just me.
Regardless, Forever 21 seems to have taken care of that little worry, by instituting a Plaid Revival, but jazzing it up and making it edgy with a succession of bright, nearly neon colors. Other examples of this trend are bikinis and bathing suits dressed up with colorful abstract designs that greatly resemble a dainty plaid design.
