Marie Laforge Silk Pareos

I love to write about beachwear because I imagine owning all these beautiful cover-ups, pareos, sarongs and beach dresses that I find. I do not get as excited about bathing suits but wearing distinctive accessories makes me feel like a million bucks. Especially luxury labels like Zigamazoo who “offers an exclusive line of original “Wearable Works of Art”, designed by award winning artist Marie Laforge”.

Zigamazoo PareoThese magnificent silk scarves can be worn as beach cover-ups, sexy tropical dresses, elegant complements to dresses and skirts, as well as shoulder wraps for cool spring nights. Although the 2008 collection has been available for purchase since September 2007, I never tire of viewing the glorious designs. Bright, bold purple octopus, pastel pink sea stars, green and black sea horses, and whimsical polka dotted fish adorn the one hundred percent silk fabric.

Created with the French style and flair of Marie’s homeland coupled with the artful exuberance of Brazil and the Caribbean, Zigamazoo offers a wide selection of prints in various lengths and widths depending on how you wish to wear the garment. One piece I find particularly interesting is the Gatomeo silk scarf in 92cm X 92cm (36”X36’) which can be wrapped to wear as a bandeau or hatter top. Curious names such as Moana, Welo, Lagoa, Hahana, Ubatuba and Azulea make these unique works of art all that more exotic and alluring.

The website is geared more toward the retailer purchasing in quantity as there is no online shopping for end user customers but it is a wonderful resource to read about the history of the company and to view the full collection. A quick internet search will provide several online stores but two of the boutiques who feature Zigamazoo are SunFitters.com and NaniNaluSwim.com. An email or telephone inquiry to the company would provide more details on locations in your area.
