While I have great respect for long standing, old, successful companies, I have to admire people who have come forward to create a product for themselves out of sheer necessity and subsequently, have it shoot to the top even though the creator had no intention of starting a business. One such company is Nicole Michelle Maternity.

Forced with the dilemma of wearing ugly and ill-made maternity clothes offered by department stores, she decided to learn to sew and make her own outfits. Of course, others saw her wearing them and she grew a well-received business.
