Jessica Simpson Swimwear- Why?

I know it may seem like we are focusing on the Jessica Simpson line lately, but when a celebrity does a fashion line it’s big news. So I’m posting my thoughts on the Jessica Simpson swimwear line.Apparently most people seem to think that Jessica Simpson is somehow representative of the Southern USA. I’ll tell you a secret from the south: she isn’t. We are not mostly rednecks or dumb blondes. No offense to any Jessica fans out there, but it seems to me that this is how she has made a name for herself.

That being said, her line leaves me extremely disappointed. There are no new designs here, only different colors and patterns. I might be able to settle for that if the suits were really pretty. In my opinion, they aren’t. I’m not a big Jessica Simpson fan anyway, but I really think she just tried to cash in on “Dukes of Hazzard”. She failed. Her line is in no way Southern. Nor is it pretty. If anyone wanted a great Southern look, don’t expect it here. All Jessica Simpson gives us is a stereotypical unoriginal version of the South and fashion. There may be pieces here and there that are wearable, but nothing worthy of a new swimwear collection. Somehow I expected more.
